Myles Turner since Donte DiVincenzo Challenged his toughness after Game 5: 34 points, 13/21 fg, 13reb, 6 blocks, and 2 wins

Thank you Donte for getting Myles going. His toughness on the glass in Games 6 and 7 was super important as was his defense - especially in Game 7. He may not be a tough guy but I still love having him on the roster

Jamal Murray in the Game 7 loss: 35 points (13/26 FG, 4/11 3PT, 5/5 FT), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 turnovers

Box Score Source

He was on fire in the first half and it looked like it was curtains for Minnesota. But Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves played tremendous defense in the second half to limit him, chip at the lead, and complete the comeback.

[Bontemps] The Pacers were playing prevent offense to start this quarter. Then TJ McConnell checked in, and things totally flipped. Has two steals 93 feet from the basket, and has helped Indiana get back up by 15 again. He’s plus-22 tonight in 13 minutes today.

With the Nuggets being eliminated, it has now been NINE consecutive season in which the regular season MVP did not win a championship the same year, the longest such streak in NBA history.

Upvotes

The last player to win a ring in the same year they won MVP was Stephen Curry in 2014-15.

Previously, the longest streak was the eight seasons between 1970-71 (Kareem) to 1979-80 (also Kareem).

Reporter: "How did Thibs grow as a coach this season?" Brunson: "Thibs is the reason why we have that mindset…why night in & night out we fight to the best of our abilities… He sees what everyone says... We don't really care what people on the outside think…Players in the locker room have his back."

[McMenamin] Anthony Edwards has just 4 points at the break. While it feels like the defending champs have everything going for them, one stat to consider: MIN is 7-1 this season (regular season and playoffs combined) when Edwards is held below five points in the first half of a game.

Luka Doncic is the only top-3 MVP finisher who hasn't blown a 17-point lead in an elimination game this playoffs

Upvotes

Shai's Thunder blew a 17-point lead yesterday in Game 6 against Dallas, and today Jokic's Nuggets blew a 20-point lead to Minnesota. Luka, who finished 3rd, has not played an elimination game so far. He is also the only top 5 finisher remaining in the playoffs after Brunson, SGA, and Jokic were eliminated.

Pacers shot 67.1% in Game 7 @ Knicks and broke the record for the highest FG% by a team in a playoff game in NBA history (FG% going back to 1963 playoffs). Previous record in a playoff game? 1990 Celtics (67%) vs the Knicks. In Game 7? 2006 Suns (61%) vs the Lakers.

[Keith Smith] The Thunder being this good AND having $35M in cap space is terrifying for the rest of the NBA. They don't need to lose a single rotation player to create that much space either.
